Happy Sunday everyone!
Today we continue the story of our new Spring collections; inspired by the lyrical beauty of the ancient arts of Japan, the collections celebrate the refined beauty of these ancient crafts and span a multitude of styles and atmospheres.
Whilst some designs like Ikebana and Karakusa capture the beauty of Ikebana – the art of Japanese flower arranging, there is also another side to the collections that has a more spirited and dynamic edge.
Making shibori in our studio
Shibori is the Japanese art of resist dyeing or tie dyeing and is a wonderful addition to any interior. Contemporary and more tailored in spirit, these designs ( like all our designs) are first created by hand in our studio - their gorgeous, watery, inky intricacies lending a soulful character to modern interiors.
Available as printed fabrics and wallpapers and panels too like Suzuri, Shibori and Kyoto Flower, or printed onto softly tumbling wide width pure linens in the Shiwa collection – these designs are gorgeous when paired with more intricate florals, or with natural plain linens or on their own. Use them in very modern spaces to bring in an element of creativity and soul instead of a more formal stripe and let serenity reign supreme. As wallpapers they harness a modern, geometric atmosphere albeit one with a handcrafted character.
In our accessories range and coming soon to bedlinen, they also have a wonderful artistic quality. A great deal of thought goes into our cushion collections – each piece is designed specifically, beautifully detailed and double sided to an equally beautiful reverse so you can ring the changes and have two cushions in one!
Our friendly and experienced team of design consultants look forward to welcoming you in-store, to show you how to create and decorate the room of your dreams.
Our fabric & wallpaper collections are available through our UK wide Designers Guild specialists and the Designers Guild stores.
